Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs (CFL’s) work well in most situations like overhead lights, wall sconces, or even chandeliers. They are eco-friendly (and kinder to your pocket book as well) because they use less electricity to light and don’t get as physically hot as a regular incandescent light bulb does. CFL’s work especially well in outdoor fixtures that you may leave on all night or when you are gone. The only downfall to them is that they take a few minutes to reach full brightness. So if you are using these bulbs for security reasons, you may want to go with halogen or incandescent as light to their full brightness as soon as you turn them on.
