Lit pathways offer two benefits. First, you can add visual interest to your backyard by creating the illusion of grandeur and romance. Second, it’s functional. It allows for safe treading, both for your family and the surrounding grass or garden. Walkway lighting can be easily concealed so that only a faint glow is present or it can be a way to showcase interesting light fixtures. Options abound!
A starry night 24/7
One of the easiest ways to fake a starry night every night is to stream a string of white lights across a section of your backyard. It can define a space – such as a patio or garden terrace. This adds real impact a yard and makes for a great conversation starter while entertaining! Additionally, if you’ve got an overhang on your patio—try a custom chandelier to hang or a unique outdoor wall sconce! 
Don’t forget natural lighting
Natural lighting is just as important to a backyard as man-made fixtures. Take care when planting large trees so you do not accidentally block sunlight. Second, consider adding light by fire throughout the space. For example, fire pits are a great gathering spot that also provide a lot of light. Tiki lights, lanterns, and candles are another option. Both natural light and fire can add warmth while also balancing out light fixtures you use throughout the yard.
