Water spots are similar to rust. Bathrooms and kitchens get the most use and wear of any room in the house and, having the element of running water, tends to make them the rooms that need remodeling more frequently than any other room. A few tips to prolong the life of your kitchen or bath is to wipe off sitting water. When water is left to dry on the countertop, floor, mirror, or cabinets, it is slowly eating away at the finish. No matter what the material is, extended exposure to water will deteriorate the finish if left to dry on its own. To keep this slow oxidation or deterioration down to a minimum simply wipe of the surfaces when you are finished using them. It may seem like a lot of work but not nearly as much as replacing the kitchen countertops or cabinets!
