Using wood flooring in a bathroom is okay if you can keep the water away from it. The best example of where to use this would be a bathroom without a shower (half bath or powder room.) In bathrooms that get a heavy use or childrens bathrooms you will be better suited using a product like Pergo or a floor that does not contain any real wood including any type of engineered wood or laminate wood. Pergo or some of the other types of composite flooring are impervious to water or moisture and will not swell or warp when subjected to water. The cons to this type of product is the appearance and the feel of the floor. Most of these products are floating (not attached to the subfloor) and have a hollow sound to them. Though they are made to look like wood it is still evident that they are an imitation of the real thing.
