Many people often wonder what the best way is to mount a small bathroom wall mirror or piece of wall art without completely destroying your wall. Personally, I have ruined a few walls and had to patch and repaint after all was said and done to repair what I had damaged. With this in mind, I decided that this would be a great question to ask our Contractor. His advice was to begin by taking good measurements and using blue painters tape to mark your measurements instead of just drawing on the wall. Next, you’ll want to use a stud finder to find good spots to place your hooks. If your studs aren’t in the place that you wish to hang your piece, you can use EZ anchors to hang your item. These can be picked up at any home improvement store and are rated for different weights, depending on what you need. To even go a step further, once you’ve decided where your hooks are going to be, you can tap a thin nail into the spot to determine what is behind the sheetrock. If you hit something like a pipe or a metal nail guard, then the small hole will be much easier to fix with caulk then a bigger spot where you’ve already installed an anchor.
